I think I have it. I removed the bungs and the four screws and the magazine rack does come off. There is a rectangular opening on the inner plywood panel allowing access to the TV inputs. The TV is still solidly affixed to the cabinetry. To release the TV from the flush mount there are two Phillips head screws holding the TV to the bottom of the mount. These two screws are difficult to reach and are at an awkward angle. I accomplished removal with a small mirror, a flashlight and a stubby screwdriver. I have yet to lift off the TV (but it is loose) and will put it all back for now until I get the input cable I need.

There could have been a better way to do this, but I am happy that I figured it out. Thanks again to the forum members who responded with their comments which were helpful.
