Exactly! None of us will recommend fastening a receiver to a rear bumper of any trailer. The bumpers are rated for no more than 200# which would be bad business for towing anything. They don't even work well for bike racks.

There are several receivers designed for RV's and TT's that will work. I believe Lund offers them. There are lots of discussions on this in earlier threads.

Edit to add: These receivers are direct connect to the frame and bypass bumpers and slideout bike racks completely. Some bolt on. Others can be welded.
