Correct! There is nothing wrong with putting a platform on the back but you have to have it done properly. As is discussed above, most TT bumpers are nothing more than sheet metal bent to form a cover of the frames. If you decide to go the rear platform mount route, thats fine, just have someone that has structural welding experience do it and make sure it is welded to the main frame I beams. Overkill is neccessary with the stress bouncing will place on the receiver. It can be done, but do it right or you will be out a genny and maybe cause damage to the TT and who ever is following you when it lets go.
