King controls "jack" HDTV antenna head

Anybody know about these antennas? I am thinking of getting to replace my old wingard .http://www.ebay.com/itm/King-Control...item1c1f427cd8

I have two of them. Had one on the Cougar and it performs as well as the Sensar/wingman combo, but is easier to aim and being lighter raises and lowers more smoothly. After Sandy removed my backup antenna from the house (cable is not very reliable here and get better HD OTA then cable) I put the Jack on the house so we had tv while power and cable were out. It's still there and I bought a new one for the trailer. I have only had the Jack for about seven months, so far so good. We will see if the Jack is as durable as the Wine-guards have been in the past. So far. Hope this helps, Hank

Thanks for the info. Hope you didn't have too much damage from Sandy. We heard it was really bad in some areas.

I found the Jack to get more channels than the wiengard with wingman. Now, on antennas, generally the narrower the acceptance beam the more the antenna gain. But the Jack seemed to have a wider beam. So..... best I can tell is that the amp in the antenna has more gain and/or a lower noise factor than a wiengard. Now for the best system, install a Jack AND add the weingard sensar pro amp. that really brings in a lot more distant channels and the gain is adjustable.

I have to agree with ktmracer also. I tried the amp on both antennas and the Jack did perform better with and without the amp. The amp also makes tuning in channels easier, They are a great combo. Great minds think alike.

The 'Other' Hank, Howdy;

Did you have any problems or difficulties installing
the Jack on to your Wineguard antenna posts or
were they compatiable?

I also installed the Jack antenna on my Cougar in 2011 and have camped with it for two seasons so far. The antenna fit the Winegard shaft with no issue at all, just remove the cable and pins that held the Winegard head on. The holes in the Jack antenna align perfectly with the mounting holes in the Winegard shaft and then reinstall the pins and cable. The only issue that I have had with the Jack antenna is heavy rain or tree leaves will disturb the signal. I now make sure that the Jack antenna and trailer our not under a lot of tree branches but rain I can’t control.
