Brake adjustment
Back in the day when I owned vehicles with drum brakes all around and having replaced them numerous times I have some technical abilities. I have read the posts and searched online regarding brake adjustment and I could not find an answer for one question I have to try to save me some time. From the adjustment hole in the backing plate which way to you turn the star wheel to tighten the brakes, up or down? Do you turn it a different way on the passenger side as opposed to the drivers side

I can never seem to remember which way they go - but -
If you remove the rubber plug and then shine a light into the hole you should be able to see the threads on the adjuster. By looking at which way the threads are pitched you should be able to see which way will expand (lengthen) the adjuster. Hope this helps

I can never remember either, just jack up that wheel and start turning the wheel while adjusting, if the wheel stops you are going the right way.

brakes
My dad, (mechanic), always taught me, "up to tighten," on those older drum brakes. (Meaning the handle/grip area of the brake spoon moves up) I never forgot that and I suspect a TT brake is the same.
Let us know how it turns out.

Once you see which way to move the tool to expand, take a white marker or small paint brush and draw an arrow on the backing plate. That's what I did.
As I recall, the tool would be moved up on one side and down on the other to expand. I don't think both sides are the same. I will go look in a bit.

on my unit the adjusters are all right hand thread so one side is up and the other is down. your dad was right with respect to drum brakes on cars and trucks. your unit may be different than mine

Drum Brake adjusters
I discovered 2013 Raptor 381 Lev, that to decrease clearance on brake shoes to drum required both sides (3 axle) to be turned downwards. Marked all with paint and arrows to avoid confusion in the future. Hardway
