Cougar and Premier bunkhouse owners

The wife and I are looking to upgrade from our 07 outback 25rss. We have some models in mind one being the outback 312bh but we also like the cougar31SQB and the Premier 31BHPR.One question we have on the cougar and premier models is how do the cub couch/flip couch hold up to the kids usage. The wife is worried that there just not going to hold up to the kids over the long term like the regular in the outback 312 will.

Thanks jeff

We have the 2011 31SQB and we bought it slightly used. So far, it has help up just fine with our kids as well as the "older" kids when we go on our canoe trips. We really love our bunkhouse in our camper. Some kids prefer the bunks while others prefer the cub couch. So far, so good.

We have the cub couch's in our 330rbk. They seem durable. They are also recoverable if you would wear one out. We really like the portability. We can stack them on a bunk and our son has a relatively large play area. Also can take them in the house and use them or store them and free up space in the rv.

For the most part in our Premier it is our 19 yo in the bunkhouse. He stores on up on the bunk over the kitchen and sleeps on the other one as he says it is better than the bunks. He also has a camp chair in the room where the other one usually is. So far so good for 2 years.

We have a 2015 Cougar 31SQB that we've only had out 6 times. Or cub couches are holding up better than the bunks. The back wall flip up bunk is pulling out of the wall as I think it was only attached to the paneling and not a frame member.

Man sorry to hear about the bunk I hope it gets fixed under warranty. I don't think that bunk would be used much and our girls are only 2 and 5.

How are you all liking the outdoor kitchen on the 31sqb with it being smaller I like the looks of the kitchen on the outback 312

I would prefer a little bigger OK or at least awning coverage. With our unpredictable weather in Michigan, we don't dare leave it open

I was (and remain somewhat) skeptical on the durability of the flip couch in our 31BHPR. It's held up just fine in the three months that we've had it. However, my concern will be what shape it's in at the 3 year mark and beyond. Though as others have mentioned, it could easily be recovered. Or if needed, it could be replaced with a small residential futon.

In short, it's not a high-quality / high-durability piece of furniture, don't expect it to last forever. We bought our trailer with that understanding so it meets our expectations.

I would stay away from the Premier. The slides are problematic because they use a cable system. I have had nothing but problems with my slides since day one and the trailer is only 20 months old.
