Actual hitch wt of Laredo 294rk

Hi, new to this forum. My wife and I are looking at the Laredo 294rl and was wondering if anyone knew the actual hitch wt of this unit. Would be towing with a 2012 f150 w/ecoboost, s/crew, and a 1500 payload.

The TT in question has as GVWR of 8500 lbs. Typically travel trailers have a tongue weight equaling 10 to 13 % of trailer weight. Using worse case scenario of the trailer loaded weighing 8500, the tongue weight (13%) would be 1,105 lbs. This leaves 395 lbs for everything else loaded into the truck including hitch (100 lbs), passengers, bikes, firewood, tools, dog, toys, etc.
Keeping in mind that this trailer is 34' long and you would likely be at or exceeding payload of your truck. I would recommend smaller trailer or more truck. I didn't catch which axle you have but if 3:42 your transmission will spends a lot of time searching for the right gear.
Good luck and make sure that you do by our homework. Nothing is worse than dropping big bucks on the rv then realizing after ione trip that you need more truck.
Good luck
Steve

Thanks for the reply steve. I figured it would max out the payload of the truck. Well, back to looking at floor plans.

Your thread title says 294 RK but your text says 294 RL. In case you meant the 294RK, I have the 294RK rear kitchen Laredo and love it. Keystone literature states 850 hitch weight and 6780 shipping weight. Loaded with water and all our travel needs except food (with a lot more storage space not used ) the trailer weighs 7880 and the hitch weight is 1440 without W/D and 1280 with W/D which comes out to 16% tongue weight. I have since added a washer to my equalizer to transfer a little more weight. The axles are setback past the mid point of the trailer so it is heavy on the tongue but tows nicely. I have weighed it two times, once with our 2500 Suburban and now with our Duramax Crew Cab long box. Same weights give or take a few pounds.

Trailer 7880 loaded
Hitch 1440 No W/D
Hitch 1280 With W/D

Fixjet, I meant to say 294rk. That trlr is definitely out of my league. I thought the wgt might be around 1200 but not 1300-1400. Too bad they couldn't balance this unit with the axles to the front a tad more and come up with a hitch wgt of say 600-650. Thanks for the info.
