Bill, If you want to thank someone, use the quote function as it makes it easier to keep track of things. My 1st camper was a truck bed Lance and I put it on a F150 base model with passenger car tires. That is where the education started to kick in as that was about as dangerous a situation as could be dreamed up. I had actually never heard of checking payload or tires. Went to an F250 and now to an F350. Payload on my F350 is about 4K lbs. If you decide RVing is for you, consider a truck with an excess of payload for your current camper and one you might move up to in the near future.

This is so true!
Our 5th wheel, only has a GVWR of 12,360#, but we full time and our pin is 2,800# and added 1,400# in stuff and hitch to our truck, total of 4,200# so pressing the limits of a SRW 3500, that is why we went with a DRW.

OP stated fifth wheel so an WD hitch does nothing for a fifth wheel but only a towed rig. No such animal.
For AirBags to help with bed sag…
Check https://www.airliftcompany.com/
Their airlift 5000 is great to raise bed back level. Most trucks will sag some when loaded. The airbags do not increase your vehicles load capacity nor should they be used as such.
The do however assist with ride and stability as well as getting rid of normal loaded bed sag.
Good info at their site, then shop around for prices. If you’re handy and a DIY person etrailer and others have stock and prices as well as telephone tech support. Call around to AirLift dealers for an installed price.

Curious if the truck had a leveling kit installed to make it ride level when empty?

Bill if you have not already done so, go to the Ford Mfg data information pertaining to your truck.
Your truck may not be properly equipped to haul the type of load you now pull.
While the engine has enough power there are other specifications you need to verify.
Here is a sample of what you should see on the manufacturers web sight.
If all matches your rig for towing then by all means head for a "Cat Scale" at a nearby truck stop.

Hope this helps, be well, safe travels, your friend and mine.
