Prodigy Brake Controller
My prodigy P2 went out! Borrowed my friends P2 and everything was fine. If I upgrade to the P3, will it plug right in? Do all Prodigys use the same plug/connector?

I believe they do. Not 100% on that. But I think so. The User interface on the p3 is nice.

We had a 25ft Outback then a 30ft Sprinter we towed using a Prodigy controller and was happy with it. Then we got a 2006 F250 with built in controller worked OK with Sprinter. Now with a Fifth wheel not real happy with factory controller. I'm thinking of putting the Prodigy in F250. What do you all think of the factory controllers?

My factory controller is terrible in my 2011 Ram 1500. Hopefully when it is replaced under warranty it will be better.
Pulled my camper with my friend's 2012 Ram 1500 and the brake controller was night and day! His works awesome compared to mine.

I bough the Prodigy 2. I think it works great. I set it at the recommended setting and only had to adjust it up one number. I'm still trying to figure out the "boost" control but so far it seems to be working great.

Andy, I have had mine for about 8 years and had not towed a TT in several years so, with this current trailer, I forgot about the boost and made several trips. The trailer was not pushing me when stopping but, I happen to read the booket again and adjusted up to the 1st boost level and it does stop better. I tryed the next higher level and it was to much. It really jerked the truck to a stop. I pulled the trailer around town for awhile at that setting before hitting the freeway and left it there. Not sure what number it's on.

I went for a P2 to a P3. It was just plug and play from the factory wiring harness to the back of both. I like the P3 becasue it does so much more but as far as stoppign I believe they are about hte same other may disagree on that. BUT I had used both on the TT and only the P3 on the 5er. I run boost #2 on the 5er.

Just an update: Yes, plugged right in but had to use the new mounting bracket, P2 bracket not the same. Works great too.

That was all i had to do two months ago. It was a simple job. Works the same, but with more features.

I upgraded from the Primus to the P3 last year. The plug in the back is the same. You just have to change the mounting bracket.
