How best to use the garage vents

There are two vents in the garage on the sides (high front and low back). What is the recommend way to use them? They open both directions, so I would think one way they will suck air out, the other way it will push air in. Perhaps open the front one so air flows in and the back one so air is drawn out?

Is there a recommended way to use them? I suspect if one was opened to scoop air in a rainstorm could create quite a mess in the garage if you didn't pull over and close it.

Thanks!

Because it's in the garage, you may sometimes have gas/oil smells or vapors. Therefore, I will leave the front one to receive air and the back one to exit the air. Good luck and Happy Pulling.

thanks kellydog, that certainly makes the most sense, just didn't know what, if anything, was recommended. Anything to keep the gas smell from accumulating!

sometimes my 4 wheeler finds horse or cow. I try to wash as much off as I can but the sometimes the scent remains. So...the vents have come in really handy. I wouldn't recomments starting and running motors while in the garage but I'm sure some do it as well. Happy Pulling!

Just don't leave them open this time of the year when in storage as stink bugs can fit through the holes in the vent. Don't ask how I know.

If you are out on dusty dirt roads I sugest face the vents to the back not forward. I have been doing this 4 years now. No dirt and no fuel smell.

Gasoline vapors are heavier then air, so when hauling toys I keep the lower one to the rear, and the upper one to the front. When towing empty in hot weather, I keep both to the front and open the roof vent (I have a vent cover) to keep the garage from being stupid hot by the end of the day. I guess I have been lucky, as I have not had bug issues in the vents.

If you leave the roof vent open and turn the side vents to the rear. The sides will create a vacum effect and pull air from the roof. No worry about sucking bugs.

Only seen my upper vent get water in one time facing forward and that was when the wind was driving the rain into that side of the camper......one of those times where it would have been better to been off the road then pushing thru. I knew it was happening. Pulled in under a bridge and shut it all up.
