Question Directv Connection

I cannot get my Directv satellite connection activated. I have a 2008 Montana. I have the satellite cable hooked up to the satellite cable connection in the outside utilities box. On the inside, in the cabinet above my TV, how should that connection be hooked up. I have my satellite receiver box sitting on top of the DVR player.

Satelite

I struggled with that too til I found out that the satellite dish needs an unbroken line to conduct the current to the dish.
It seem that the "Sat Prep" goes through the cable booster (dest matter if it is off) and that interferes with the connection current.
I got so frustrated I drilled a hole straight to the back of the entertainment center where my reciever is and put a covered fitting that I just screw my Tailgater into. That is how I got my satelight to work.
I'm interested if anybody else has a solution.

I just did a lot of trial and error with mine. I actually keep a small tv outside and set everything up outside first. I then disconnect the receiver once I know I have a strong signal and take it inside. I connect my wire from the Dish to the Sat In...go inside make sure "green light" is off on the RV amplifier...plug in my hdmi to the TV...plug coax into my receiver and I'm done. My Cougar has multiple wires coming in and I had to try several until I got it. It was separate from the cable tv coax. Good luck!

There are several threads on the Montana Owner's Club forum about this, including a few schematics on how they're SUPPOSED to be wired. (I found out that ours had a tweak to this & had to trace a cable.) There will most likely be at least one owner of your same year and model there that's done this as well.
