Adding an awning to a slide isn’t really a good idea. There is most likely wiring in the wall at the corners for any 12V lighting and if you hit it with any mounting screws it’s a REAL PITA to fix, ask how I know. The other issue is where to mount the rail.
I have seen some fivers with an awning mounted to the slide ( Grand Designs Reflection) but it came from the factory that way, making me think that the engineers factored that in.
