Where ya headed

in Virginia the state park system opens every March 1. We've always gone state park camping the first weekend but like much of the nation, the weather has been a mess.

Our first camping trip this year will be the 3rd weekend to Staunton River State Park, near South Boston, Va to view the night sky with the CHAOS astronomy group http://www.chaosastro.com/starparty/

What's your plans for the first trip of 2015?
Look forward to hearing from ya

Our first trip will be the day we are picking up our new 296FRS Outback. We are taking it on a shakedown cruise just a few miles from our house for three nights. We so far have 43 nights booked for 2015. One 10 day trip to Lake Reidsville NC. Very excited and aprhenisive at the same time.
Happy Camping!

At this point, Memorial Day weekend in May. Would like to do 1 or 2 trips before that in May but we are a little buried with snow and not sure of the mud yet.

I am waiting for May 2nd to leave for the interior of British Columbia and hopefully nice weather, staying at an rv park/orchard. Cant wait. Hoping for good weather the end of April to dewinterize the trailer and have a few days in case there are any repairs needed.

I was camping down here on New Years day. Headed up into GA in 2 weeks for a spring break trip away from the crowds.

Headed to savannah Georgia for about 10 days in 3 weeks. We are always looking for short trips, is Staunton state good for viewing the sky? We've never been there.

Lake Livingston State Park, TX in a couple of weeks, which we visit several numerous times a year and less than 2 hours away. June, we are headed to Lake Catherine State Park in Hot Springs Arkansas and then on to Tennessee where we will spend a week at Fall Creek Falls State Park and maybe a couple of other parks while in Tennessee.

Heading to Fort Stevens, OR this Friday. Supposed to be 60 and sunny on the OR coast, crazy winter we have had in the PNW. Unusually warm this year so far!

We have a full year of racing planned. Getting a wet bolt kit installed next week and would like to do a short 2-3 day trip before we hit the road on long trips., if the weather will clear.
Have tickets and RV spots for NASCAR at Bristol and Richmond in April. Then Indy500 in May. Then Belleville USAC Midget Nationals in Belleville, KS in July. Then USAC 4 Crown at Eldora, Ohio in September. Would like to get some sitting around just chillin time in there somewhere, maybe near Smoky Mtn Nat Park.

Bailing out of TX on 3/28 headed to Panacea, FL to spend April and May. Haven't decided but figure we'll spend another month or so on the way back kicking around in GA, AR and MO. I am sure glad I was referred to this new job, one I had thought I'd never get......retirement

One of the best jobs ever ! Enjoy it. I am hoping to get there in good time. I wish I could go now but my statements say otherwise -

We're heading out on our SECOND camping trip this Monday. Unheard of...we've had just the opposite of the bad weather in the east this year! Usually it's not possible to go anywhere before April or May.

summerhummer - retirement will come in due time. In the interim don't forget to have all the fun you can; you don't have to wait until retirement to do that - you can just have more of it when you do retire
