21RBSWE manual slide crank location?

I know that there are various places on Keystone's many models where the motor/housing is located and we've watched the video on Keystone's instructions on where to find this bit of machinery, but here's the rub: in the video they mention that dealers should have provided a crank or socket to work the motor/housing once you find it....and the only crank we have is the one for the stabilizers.

So, does anyone know if the 21RBSWE uses a socket or a crank?

I have a passport 2100rbwe and mine is a flex drive that would fit into a drill it is about 1 foot long.
Mine was in a canvas bag given to me with all the information about our TT. I have not had to use it yet but I'm sure the day will come.
I hope this helps.

Under the camper slide side (just ahead of the axles as I recall) you should see an approximate 5X5" door cut in the corraplast and held closed with a zip tie. That is the manual location. I was told my stabilizer crank was the tool to use. I have not tried it yet but I checked out the access.

Thumbs up

Thank you, Western Traveler! Guess we'll be crawling underneath this weekend to take a look-see and try out the cranking.

If your manual slide crank is in fact located in the "underbelly", you might want to make note of what Lippert has to say about disconnecting the battery from the slide motor BEFORE you start cranking away:

WARNING: "Always disconnect the battery from the system prior to manually operating it. Failure to do so can cause electricity to backfeed through the motor and cause serious damage to the system as well as void the warranty."

If you do find the motor, you'll need a 3/4" socket and ratchet . Rotate it clockwise to retract and counter-clockwise to extend.

Hopefully, you will never have to use the manual over-ride but if you do, it will probably be pouring rain and you'll be lying in the mud cursing and cranking.

On our Cougar (a different year and model than yours) our motor and manual over-ride is in the underbelly. The cut-out is on the passenger side, in front of the front rear wheel and "in" about 2 ft.

Let us know if you find it.

Good to know!

Hubby has another question along these same lines: what about the electric awning? Any manual over-ride for that?

Electric awning? What's that? Ours is manually operated all the time so I don't have to worry about any electrical failures. Whoopee!

Festus,
I am thinking our stabilizer jacks take a 3/4" socket too. I like the idea of a ratchet and always carry an emergency ground cloth to lay on the muddy ground (of course I keep it buried where I can't get to it when I need it).
Guess you folks were told to use a cordless drill to raise and lower your jacks. I firm mine up with the manual crank when I get close.

Western Traveler:
Actually, I've never used a cordless drill to raise or lower the stabilizer jacks. I've always cranked them up or down manually and it only takes about 40 seconds longer to do all 4 jacks. Besides, it's good exercise and I must say no one has ever come by and seen this old man cranking away and offered to lend me their cordless drill.

We own a 2013, 21RBS (East coast) and after cutting open the underbelly to see what we have in the way of emergency equipment in case of slideout problem, we found ....nothing.

We had to order, from the dealer, a special socket. (see attachment), and slip it over the Lippert drive pin and secure it with a cotter pin. (see attachment)
Now we can operate it with a ratchet set in an emergency or with a flex drive on a power drill.

If your Lippert Venture Actuator Motor is like ours, you do not have to disconnect any power supply to crank it manually.
