Question regarding rear ladder repair

So I got a call from the RV storage place where are poor trailer has to sit when I'm not camping. They told me the neighbor in the north spot parks a large box truck in their spot and somehow hooked up to the chain link fence behind our spots and pulled the fence down. Unfortunately, the chain link rubbed up against the back of our trailer and the only visible damage is to our rear ladder. It has been pulled to the left a little but is still secure on top (caulking seals on the roof are still intact). All bolts are still in and all seals look good on the trailer.
The RV place said the people who pulled down the fence our willing to fix our damage.
My question is- should I take the trailer into the dealer and have them do an estimate? Should I just leave it since we don't use the rear ladder anyway (except to hold the ladder we used to get on the roof). Are there any other things I should be worried about? My main concern is leaking. In Oregon it rains ALL the time!!

Since this should be covered by someone else's insurance, I wouldn't hesitate to take it in. There may be no leak concern, but if you don't get it looked at and next spring, find a leak, any rights to a claim may elapse.

Not to mention resale value. Why should you be out from his screw up. It's the little stuff like that can cost you thousands on a trade in deal or lose a sale on a private sale. It may not be much, but it wouldn't come out of my pocket.

Thanks everyone for your input. I have an appointment this Thursday to have the dealer check it out and repair.
The guy who parks to our north did call and apologize for pulling the fence into our trailer. He told me he thought he could "pull off" the ladder and re-align it for us. I told him my main concern was water leakage so I was taking it into the dealer for review. He said "OK" so we'll see what happens after the estimate on Thursday.
so since it's going into the dealer anyway..... I think it's time for me to get the electric tongue jack that was my Christmas present last year.... maybe a few other things while I'm looking ;-)
