You should have a "Build sheet" that was supplied with your RV. It is either white, pink or yellow. On it you will find all the model numbers, serial numbers and other information on everything that was included in your RV. It will list the tires, refrigerator, furnace, water pump, A/C etc. The model number and serial number are on that sheet. If you can't find the sheet in your owner's packet, then find the front of the furnace and the information is there as well. It's on a tag attached to the outside of the main frame of the furnace.

Get that model number, go to Google and type in the model number followed by the words "owner's manual"

You should get a list of sites where the owner's manual can be downloaded. Look first for the manufacturer's site (Atwood, Suburban, Thetford, etc)

Hint: If the site shows "PDF" it's probably a link to the owner's manual directly (without having to select other options at the site once you get there)

Hope this helps, and since it appears you haven't yet used your furnace, it will smoke, smell and set off your smoke detectors when you first turn it on. So open windows and doors to vent the space first. It'll take about 30 minutes to burn off the paint/oil from the heat exchanger box.

Now, the simple operation of most furnaces is to set the thermostat to "HEAT" and turn the temperature selector to a higher number than the inside temperature. You should hear the furnace fan come on and about 2 minutes later, you should hear the igniter popping as it lights the propane. Shortly thereafter, you should get warm air out of the registers. If that doesn't happen, then you need to do some troubleshooting which is contained in the owner's manual.

Good luck,

As John said, you should just be able to turn it on and it will fire. Not much to read about in a manual. Set it to heat, adjust the thermostat and go. Our current trailer was a couple years old when we bought it and the furnace had never been used. We had to turn it off and on 10-15 times before it finally fired. This was at the walk-through and the tech was ready to tear into it to find out why it wouldn't start--guess it was just dirty.

To have the fan turn on and off with the heater or A/C, the fan must be on the automatic setting, not on Low or High.
