Canadian May 24th

It's coming quickly. Got playing around the other night on the provincial parks site and for the heck of it keyed in the May 24th dates. Just about fell off my chair when it accepted the dates. Completely forgot or never thought we were within the 5 month window to book sites. Missed out getting our fave but still got an acceptable site.

Thanks for posting that. I never even thought to check when we could book. Some people don't realize how hard it is for us Canadians to get a campsite in our Provincial Parks.

Let the planning begin

For future reference ..... and in case you haven't played this game before. If you truly want your "Favorite" site ......

Log in a few days before you actually want to reserve and make it a longer stay - then 1 month to the date of booking you can change your dates for a very small 1 time fee and you cancel the first few days.

I've been doing this for years to get that "Special" site on the dates you want.

Can't book here until March 15th. I've given up on the closest park and found one ~ an hour away that has available sites, just not on the lake.

Zuley, we're not far from you --St. Catharines. I booked May 24 at Earl Rowe about 2 weeks ago. As you know you need to book well in advance for weekends, but Ontario Parks used to have only about a $9 cancellation fee, so people would book many dates and cancel some later. They have now upped their cancellation fees making it less attractive to book in advance. I'm not sure it's going to be any easier to get decent sites though. Where are you going May 24?

That's funny ...... My mom was born and raised in Port Burwell - spent a ton of my childhood there. Haven't been back in 30 years.

Have they paved the roads yet????

I think where you park there use to be a grandstand there - big bands use to play. "good ole days" as my Mom would say!
