Camera Prep Green/White

2021 Arcadia 3660rl 5er.

I searched the forum, but did not see this. I am installing a rear camera on the back and it is prepped, but here is the question;

I removed the panel and I see a green/white wire with no end. It is just a loop. Am I to assume that this is the wire and it should have an end but it was tucked back in somehow? Can I cut the wire and check the green to see which is the hot one?

Thanks
Tony

As a rule, solid white is negative and white with any color stripe is positive. You may have a loop and if that’s the case you simply tap into the wiring. “Scotch locks” are the best for this.

I would gently pull on each end of the loop and if you encounter resistance, it’s most likely a loop.

Not that Chuck needs my help but, Chuck didn't say snip the wire. He said to tap into the wire with a scotch lock. If you just cut the wire you'll likely lose lights.

Thank you for the clarification. I will definitely use a scotch lock

Definitely don’t cut the green wire! We all know what happens in the movies if you cut the green wire!

#1. Is this camera to operate when the vehicle is in reverse only or all the time ? Depending on the answer, check the wire for voltage. Unless the mounting plate has your ground, you should have 2 wires.

That was it, thank you all. What a time suck for such a simple solution.
