Maiden voyage..KABOOOM

We thought we should do a short "shake-down cruise" with the new Montana. So off we go to Coushatta Casino in Louisiana.
10 miles down the road.......KABOOOM.
Dang, those one of those towmax's has already gone "blowmax". And I just checked the pressure with my digital Joes's Racing super accurate pressure gauge.
Ease off the 4 lane road to the thankfully good shoulder. Do a quick walk around....trailer tires look OK, and truck tires look OK. I get down on my hands and knees to see if I ran over something. Hmmm...what is that hanging down under the truck? It's wrapped around the driveshaft!? Oh no, it's the pull strap for the roll-up bed cover! I guess it got between the cab and truck bed and found the driveshaft. That's a new one! I guess the Montana has a bit different aerodynamics than the Cougar. It unwrapped easy.
No other big issues. Well, the Lippert auto level had me stumped. I got that figured out when we got home today.
The trailer has been back to the dealer with Dometic refig issues. They say it's fixed...they re-arranged the sheet metal behind the coil so the fans could push heat out better. We'll see.
I discovered that we will need an aftermarket pin box. Dang bad back roads in Louisiana beat us up. I can't decide which brand. Input regarding that is welcome.

We live in GA and have made 4 trips to Disney since April. I pull with a dually and it handles the road pretty good, but the chucking was bad in places. I just installed a mor/ryde pin box and pulled with it for the first time last weekend. WOW what an improvement! It will not get rid of the up and down but not nearly as bad. Trailer rides much smoother.

Thanks for the info. I've looked on-line at those. Also Demco and Rota Flex. Demco and Rota Flex hint that they help on vertical loads. Those that have Mor Ryde sure like them.

I have the rota flex and am very happy with it. Don't see any reason to spend more on a higher end model.

Installed the Mor/ryde a couple of years ago. Night and day difference. Dramatic reduction in chucking. Well worth the cost.
