Ontario campground electricity fees

Hello,

I'm new to the camping world, so I'm not sure about the electricity fees.

I have a trailer at a seasonal campground in Ontario Canada and we just got our first electricity bill.

My friend in a different campground said my $170 CAD bill for 2.5 months is way too much. He said that at the campground he is at, they only charge from evening and overnight. The daytime is considered to be part of the campgrounds responsibility. Also, he said they don't pay for electricity delivery. Again, saying the campground owners are responsible for that.

I am not sure if he has an electricity meter at his site, but I do and that is how they calculated the usage.

As for the delivery charge, the campground divides their fee by the 50 campsites. Each paying $47.

Is there anyone here from Ontario that knows what we should be charged?

Thank you,
Jimisand

Might we ask what delivery charge might be?
And I will say that $50 American per month with the park markup is about the average rate.

I’m not familiar with Canada, but here in the States, seasonal sites are metered, and you pay for your usage. Daily and weekly sites don’t pay as a rule. Some grounds are now metered for stays of two weeks or more.

Good luck, and welcome,

Maybe someone in Canada can explain the fees. Whenever I stay monthly I pay electricity by the kilowatt hour. Daily, weekly fees include electricity. I will say that I've heard of, and visited a park, that did charge "extra". In my case they were just charging ridiculous kwh rates to make extra money.

The delivery charge being the cost it takes from the generating station to the customer. So they say each of us pays $47

The usage rate is $0.18/kwhr.

I'm there from May to October
